Tandoori Chicken Tikka

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to gas mark 180c
  2. Wash the chicken pieces
  3. Rub the salt, garlic and ginger paste and vinegar onto the chicken chunks
  4. Add, turmeric, deghi mirch powder, cumin powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, fresh coriander and red chilli flakes to the chicken and mix thoroughly so that the chicken is coated completely in the mixture
  5. Lastly add the olive oil to the marinated chicken and mix for a final time and leave in the refrigerator to marinate for about 30 minutes.
  6. Put the chunks onto a lightly greased baking tray or skewer the chunks if you prefer (can also be cooked in a clay oven if available) and cook on gas mark 180 for 15-20 minutes
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve

  • 600g chicken breast (skinned and cut into tikka chunks)
  • 100g low fat yogurt
  • 25g ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 level teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 15g fresh coriander
  • 3g red chilli flakes
