Mazedar Spicy Baked Prawns

Method

  1. Peel, clean and wash the prawns
  2. Make a horizontal cut at the top of each prawn
  3. Coat and prawns in the ginger and garlic paste and leave to one side whilst preparing the marinade
  4. Mix the oil and turmeric together in a mixing bowl and gradually add all the other ingredients
  5. Add the ginger and garlic coated prawns to the marinade and leave to marinate for about 30 minutes (prawns could also be left overnight, by which the prawns would absorb more of the spices and flavours in the marinade)
  6. Put the prawns onto a lightly greased baking tray and cook in a pre-heated oven at 180c for about 8-10 minutes (prawns can also be made in the clay oven).

  • 8 Pieces King Prawns
  • 50g Greek Low Fat Yoghurt
  • 15g Ginger and Garlic paste
  • 2 Fresh Green Chillies (finely crushed)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin powder (3g)
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric powder (1.5g)
  • ½ Teaspoon Garam masala
  • ½ Teaspoon white pepper
  • Salt to taste
